Sandstone Gallery is an abstract art gallery. We are located in North Laguna Beach on Pacific Coast Highway. Reflecting the beauty and character of Laguna Beach in the 1940s, the gallery is easily recognized by our building’s original cedar shake shingles, large turquoise awning, and our homey, craftsman-style architecture.

Sandstone Gallery is proud to celebrate 42 years of operation in the same location - the longest run of almost all of the art galleries on Laguna Beach’s Historic Gallery Row. Since our inception in 1981, the gallery has operated as a cooperative collection of artists working together and making all decisions regarding the operation of the gallery space.

Our current group of nine artists exhibit artworks representing a variety of abstract styles in oil, acrylic, mixed media, monoprint, and watercolor. Some of our artists primarily show their work locally while others have national and international presence. In addition to our ‘group of nine’, each month the gallery hosts an exhibit by an invited guest artist.

Beyond the pride we take in our amazing and ever-changing collection of work, we are known for our welcoming, relaxing (and newly renovate) gallery atmosphere.

Gallery hours are 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily (closed Tuesday). In addition, we are happy to open the gallery anytime by appointment, or we can bring work to your home for personal viewing. We’re also open for Laguna Beach First Thursday Art Walk (the first Thursday of each month) from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
