Omri Escalante was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and at 18 years old, relocated to New York City to earn a degree from Parsons School of Design. Deaf since childhood, Omri communicates without difficulty by using two hearing aids, and those who know him agree he is the one to turn to if you need someone to listen.
After completing his BFA at Parsons, Omri has spent time: traveling Europe studying art, working for a couture fashion house, designing for a high-end knitwear company, and painting a mural on trade, trust, and exchange for Chapman University.
Of his work, Omri says: “I am inspired by classical art, energy, and light; and my passion is to create images that touch, move and inspire others.”
At twenty-eight, Omri and his one-hundred pound Bernese Mountain Dog, Bear, now make Laguna Beach, California, their home.
